30 oct to 8 nov, gothenburg "yoo-te-bor"

Skansen Kronan

these are big recycling bins in the neighbourhood.
in both finland and sweden, most households separate their trash into different bins which is a very good practice that all countries should follow. it is common for them to have 4 to 5 small bins at home for metals, papers, plastics, compost (food waste) and glass.

a pirate ship?
here we are... there were lots of new houses being built here... must be expensive to live by the coast

walking across a 2 or 3km bridge to the other side

stayed at Ibrahim's place during our visit here. Ibrahim is a malaysian who took a ferry from penang to madras, crossed pakistan, afghanistan, iran, turkey into europe in the 70s. he had since moved to sweden many many years ago after marrying my friend Anja. He still retains his malaysian accent and prefers malay curry and rice. our stay with him was just as wonderful as with Anja.
