after spending a cold night in the airport, we were on our way to Milan, Italy.

see the long rod that he was holding on to? there is a rubber ring tied to it and he was trying to put that ring onto the cap of each coke bottle. not sure of the prize though... probably win a bottle of coke?

to see the interior of the mosque, one has to take a guided tour which obviously we didnt...

Hassan II Mosque - the world's third largest mosque which can hold up to 25,000 worshippers and 80,000 in the courtyards and squares around it.

7 to 9 dec 2007, Fes

Doctor Marouk from Libya - he teaches Arabic history in his country and was in town for a conference. he stayed next door to our room and brought us around town, bought us meals, coffee and delicious moroccan oranges!

we stayed in a hotel inside this medina (an Islamic medieval city)

a small water plain... cactus can be seen in most parts of morocco

note: be pepared to have some coins with you. the assistants helping out with the luggage storage will usually ask tourists to pay 10 dirhams per person while locals pay only 5. but if you insist that you only have 5, most of them will take it.
